The Public Health Association of New Zealand (Inc.) is a voluntary membership society for all those who see themselves as part of the public health workforce and are concerned about health equity.

The PHANZ Council is currently seeking expressions of interest for the role of Chief Executive. The incoming CE will lead their team in building on PHA’s existing strengths and reputation, and drive delivery on its key strategic priorities. As a membership association, the CE will be instrumental in ensuring all PHA activities are in line with the collective ambitions of its membership and our values.

The successful applicant will have a relevant tertiary qualification, preferably in public health and/or management; a proven track record and have the following skills and experience:
Strategic thinking and planning
Leadership in a complex environment
Management of a not for profit organisation
Understanding of public health theory, competencies and practice
Working across government and non-government sectors
Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Knowledge of equal employment opportunity principles and practice
Communication – interpersonal as well as in a wide range of media
Motivates and inspires others towards a shared vision
