CEO – Fundraising Institute of New Zealand (FINZ)
The Fundraising Institute of New Zealand (FINZ) is the membership organisation of fundraisers and leaders, trustees and managers in the community and charity sector. FINZ advances professional development and qualifications in the sector, maintains fundraising ethical best practice and standards and advocates on behalf of the sector at government level.
This is a rare and exciting leadership opportunity reporting to the Board of FINZ. The CEO will implement the Strategic Plan, provide leadership and promote and deliver key objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
• Vision, strategy, finance and business planning
• Membership, advocacy and representation
• Education and marketing
• Revenue growth from Membership, advertising and sponsorship
• Board reporting and support
• Staff and office management – four direct reports
FINZ is looking for a person who is smart, who listens and learns, leads and collaborates.
To succeed in this role you will understand the value of members and membership communications and training principles and practice within a community or charity sector environment. A sound knowledge of fundraising practices and principles would be an advantage as would a knowledge of training and skills development.
You will need to be a leader first and foremost, someone who gathers around them the right people to make a difference. You will need exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills to work effectively with board members, staff and stakeholders. You will have the ability to influence others and provide sector leadership.
This role is full-time (flexible) role based in Wellington, with a salary range of $125 – 135k.
