Support Services Coordinator – Full time, based in Christchurch

 This exciting role provides an opportunity to work for one of New Zealand’s leading cancer NGOs – Leukaemia & Blood Cancer NZ (LBC).  With a Mission to Care and Vision to Cure, LBC is dedicated to improving the quality of life for people living with blood cancers by providing personalised patient support, funding haematology research, producing high quality patient information, increasing public awareness and advocacy at the highest level.

 LBC is seeking a full time Support Services Coordinator to work alongside the existing part-time Senior Support Service Coordinator to continue to coordinate and further develop services for patients, families and healthcare professionals.  Based in Christchurch, this role provides support for the upper region of the South Island and will, therefore, require occasional travel to the regions.

 Responsibilities will include –

 Providing practical and emotional support to patients and their families

  • Development and facilitation of patient educational seminars and support groups
  • Educational resource development
  • Development and maintenance of relationships with other NGOs and key health stakeholders
  • Delivery of educational presentations to health professionals

 It would be advantageous for the successful candidate to have a nursing or allied health background with experience of working in haematology, oncology or similar within the New Zealand healthcare system.  Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills will be required as will IT proficiency and high levels of self-motivation to work autonomously.  A clean full driving licence is also essential. 

 You will be part of a Nationwide team of Coordinators and you will be provided with comprehensive support to ensure you succeed in this role.
