Business Development Manager

If so, join us at Environmental Choice New Zealand (ECNZ), the country’s most rigorous ecolabel for goods and services. We’re a small, not-for-profit, owned and endorsed by the Ministry for the Environment.

As Business Development Manager, you will lead efforts to grow ECNZ’s client base for environmental certification and increase revenue.

You will be responsible for building and nurturing relationships with a variety of industries, working with them to improve their environmental standards and get the most out of their ECNZ membership. Consequently, you will be helping Kiwi consumers identify environmentally preferable products and kick greenwashing to the kerb.

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a sales or sales-related role
  • The ability to build and nurture strong client relationships
  • Experience with or an understanding of environmental and sustainability issues
  • Be highly motivated, able to work under pressure and meet objectives without supervision
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to problem solve
  • A genuine passion for the wellbeing of People & Planet
