We are currently looking for volunteers for our Bureau Interviewer role. In this role you will be assisting clients with their enquiries,/issues providing services, information, and researching using our database and resources. Our work involves providing a quality face to face service to our local community and people new to New Zealand.
You will need to be a good communicator and problem solver. Be non-judgmental and eager to learn and help others. Must be comfortable in a multi-cultural team, have a commitment to community service, and a curiosity for information and ongoing learning. Be confident using a computer. The preferred applicant will live in the Pakuranga/Howick/Botany area.
Volunteers are rostered for 3.5hr shift once a week, a Saturday shift once every 3-4 months and training days once a month generally for 1-2 hours.
Must be available for the Basic Training Course which is 4 days 9.30-4.30pm
This is an ongoing role and a long term commitment is expected.
When basic training is completed there will be a 12 week probation period before being accredited as a Bureau member. Then monthly for 1-2hrs for learning sessions. No cost to volunteers as training costs are covered by the Bureau but it is a commitment for 1 year minimum.
