Voluntary Board of Trustee Member
Job Description
Voluntary Board Members required
The Auckland Community Housing Trust is seeking at least two Trustee Board Members. The Auckland Community Housing Trust is a small to medium community housing provider established twenty years ago in response to perceived need for an empathetic landlord who could help tenants with mental health and disability issues retain and manage their homes with dignity and security.
The Trust is governed by a stable, committed and experienced Board of the remaining four trustees: Richard Northey, Carey Pearce, Susan Sotheran and Glenda Fryer, who have long and varied experience in property and social housing management, mental health and disability services, housing and social policy issues and financial management and planning. The Board meets bi-monthly in the afternoons of even months. We are seeking committed Aucklanders with real empathy for the needs and aspirations of disabled, disadvantaged or mentally challenged people and their families. Skills in governance, financial literacy, housing issues, advancing equity and social justice and Auckland’s particular housing issues would be an advantage.
