Board position Board Members/Governance Team
Generation Zero was founded in 2011 by a group of young New Zealanders who shared a vision to see our country freed from our dependence on fossil fuels and on track to a safe, thriving, zero carbon future.
We are a non-partisan, campaigning and advocacy group who take a solutions-focused approach to our work. We have active teams in five main centres, and with the exception of a new, part-time administrator, we are a completely volunteer-run organisation. We have undergone a number of structural changes over the years.
We have decided to appoint a Governance Board, to help us function more effectively as a nationwide organisation, and to provide the strategic guidance, continuity and structural support that is necessary for operating as a distributed group of this size.
We are looking to appoint a minimum of 5 Board Members, who can commit to an initial first term of 1 year, but preferably would be able to stay on for 2 years. All Board positions are voluntary, but Generation Zero will endeavor to cover any travel costs or other expenses. Please see the attached GZ Board positions descriptions for more detail.
How to Apply
Please send through your CV and a cover letter to [email protected].
The selection process will be undertaken by a committee comprising representatives from each regional team, after a consultation period with the wider membership. Applications will be made available to the wider membership during this process. The Board Selection Committee will then lead an induction process.
