NFP GOVERNANCE ROLE.

Dayspring is a registered charitable trust governed by a Board of Trustees. Dayspring began over 30 years ago with a group of women in West Auckland who saw a need that wasn’t being met. Since those early beginnings we have been working with vulnerable families and have a long history of positive involvement with mothers and their babies who are living with post-natal depression or an on-going mental illness.

We have first hand experience on the impact their illness has on the mother/baby bonding processes, and the associated risks of attachment disorder. Dayspring provides programmes and services that are designed to positively influence the pathways for women and their families/whanau.

The Board provides governance of the Trust in managing financial and legislative obligations and monitors compliance with The Ministry of Social Development, Waitemata District Health Board and various philanthropic Trusts. Board members perform these duties on a voluntary basis and meet monthly in West Auckland.

Two Board positions have become available and we invite individuals to express interest in becoming an integral member of the team.
We wish to appoint trustees with:
➢ Sound financial management and accounting skills.

➢ Established networks in business and the wider community that will support Dayspring Trust in building networks and relationships with the corporate world.
➢ A background in mental health or social services would be advantages.
➢ Knowledge of the principals of governance and effective operations within a not-for-profit organisation.
