Full-Time Biomedical Technician Mentor – Bougainville
Use your biomedical engineering experience to support the Arawa District Hospital and enable better health outcomes in rural Bougainville.
The district hospital has recently been upgraded from a Level 3 to a Level 4 health facility, meaning an increase in staff, equipment and expected capability. ADH requested assistance with implementing processes and strategies that will ensure best maintenance and procurement of biomedical assets. Working closely with ADH staff, you will review biomedical engineering systems and processes. Based on this review you will provide recommendations and a work plan as well as design and execute a training programme.
This rewarding assignment offers an opportunity to share your skills and support healthy communities through improved biomedical assets management.
We are looking for a volunteer with:
– Qualifications in biomedical engineering, logistics or other related field
– Experience as a biomedical engineer or performing repair and/or preventative maintenance on hospital or medical equipment
– Knowledge of procurement in a health setting
This is a 1-year assignment based in Bougainville
