Full-Time Bay of Plenty Regional Coordinator
Permanent full time role
32 hours per week
$45,968 – $48,000 salary (plus KiwiSaver)
Tauranga drop-in centre, and wider Bay of Plenty & Hauraki region
This is an exciting opportunity to join the RainbowYOUTH whanau as a staff member, and work alongside queer, gender diverse and intersex young people in the Bay of Plenty and Hauraki region. We’re looking for someone who loves working with people, is good at building relationships, and wants to learn and grow with us! We will provide full training for this role, and our Support Manager will work closely with you as you are learning the ropes.
In this role, you’ll be building relationships with youth services across the Bay of Plenty, connecting rainbow young people into services they need, providing information and resources about gender and sexuality, and helping coordinate the youth-led peer support groups across the region.

Skills and experience preferred:
– Awareness of the needs of gender diverse, queer and intersex communities
– Commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Tikanga Maori
– Good written and verbal communication skills
– Able to self-manage and show initiative in your work
– Strong time management and self-motivation
– Passion for working with young people
– Full driver’s licence is preferred but not necessary
