Part-Time Associate – Health Consumer Service Trust
We are looking for empathetic people to assist consumers in resolving concerns/complaints they may have about a health service they have received. We need to appoint someone in each of the Hamilton, Tauranga, Gisborne, and Taumarunui regions.
The Health Consumer Service is designed to assist consumers in communicating their concerns to their health providers, to ensure that the health provider has the opportunity to address the concerns, which may also result in changes that will benefit others. The Trust’s Associates work with consumers to achieve this, with an aim to help consumers personally, and to improve the quality of health services.
Our Associates need:
> Excellent communication skills.
> A knowledge and empathy for people with health and disability concerns.
> The ability to work independently and within a team.
> The ability to work flexible hours.
> Cultural sensitivity.
Associates need to be able to support consumers with their complaint by:
> Writing letters or making phone calls on the consumer’s behalf.
> Advising consumers about complaints procedures.
> Attending meetings with consumers and their health care provider.
Hours worked per week will fluctuate because the number of complaints from consumers inevitably varies week by week. Pay rate is $25 per hour
Associates must have a full drivers license and be able to use their own car with a current WOF and registration (costs reimbursed).
