Advisor/Senior Advisor, Land Protection

QEII National Trust is the leader in private land conservation in Aotearoa/New Zealand with almost 4,600 covenants around the country and some offshore islands. They work in partnership with landowners to protect forever significant natural and cultural heritage with QEII covenants.

This role reports to the Manager, Land and Legal Protection, and is part of the Land and Legal Protection Team. Advisors provide ecological or other relevant specialist advice, support, and make recommendations regarding new covenant protection and existing covenant management for the Trust.

The successful candidate will engage closely with all teams within the organisation, particularly supporting their representatives out in the field, as well as landowners and other stakeholders.

This position is unique, like the taonga QEII protects. The appointee will get the chance to visit some of New Zealand’s iconic landscapes and to work with landowners from across the country.

To be considered for this interesting role, you will have a science background and/or relevant experience in ecology, the environment or other aspects of land protection. You may have worked in a local or central government setting or in an environmental field role.

You will also have:

-strong relationship management skills and experience
-well-developed problem-solving ability
-excellent organisational skills.
